Quick question on Fenix DRM

Featured Replies

I bought the Fenix A320 about a day or two after it was released, but I have yet to install it.  The reason I'm hesitant to do so is that I'm running a seven-year-old computer, and look to build a new one in the next few months.  I know the Fenix comes with some form of DRM, but what happens when you have it on one computer and want to move it to a new one?  I would assume you have to "unregister" it in some way on the old computer first.  How easy/convoluted is it?  Would it be a simple matter to switch it to a new computer, or would I be better off waiting until I have that new build done?  I tried googling the question but found nothing on the subject.

If not mistaken, you can reset the license from your account at fenxsim.com which from my understanding, will treat it as unregistered

Also, the Fenix app serves as DRM, i.e. whenever and whereever you run the app and login with your credentials it ensures that the Fenix can only be run on 1 machine, regardless IIRC on which machine. Technically you could share the license with a friend as long as you do not fly the Fenix at the same time (and thus are logged in via the Fenix app at the same time). That's how I understand the "DRM" so you, James, should be fine the run the Fenix now on your current machine and then on the new one. And if anything fails there is still the license reset mentioned above

Nothing to worry about here. You log into your Fenix account and every time you load the plane it loads the UI that verifies that you are using the add-on. It's the same as MSFS.

I think you have more to worry about with MSFS if you bought it from the MS Store. I had a few issues after I upgraded my computer. The sim would not load at all.

How did you solve the problem, if I may ask? I'm about to go that route.

It had to do with setting up the time and region correctly. You should also log into your MS account to successfully activate windows.
