The pesky little devils, if they see a fancy car they like, stick one on the car, then late at night steal it off your drive.

It doesn't take long for the criminal element to adapt new technology to criminal activity does it?

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Like confessing beforehand over the internet.  The key phrase here is Non Compos Mentis.

Though you can use your phone to scan the area and check/see if you have been tagged.

Apple has added alerts to identify if an unknown AirTag is following you, such as in the same car or in your bag. However, it would still be easy for an Android user to miss as they won't get alerts on their phone, and would need to hear the sound they make. If the AirTag is on the outside of your car, especially somewhere far from the driver, they may not hear it.

There is an Android app one can download.

Good idea to place your own tag in your car. Then you can track down the thief and practice your Kung Fu when you find them.
