Drone Flyby View

Recommended Posts

I've never really got the hang of using the drone at all.  Please could someone tell me how I need to set it up to give me a flyby view.

Any other tips on how to set it up and control it would also be helpful.

Thanks

Do you have an Xbox or PS? Plug that controller into your PC and use that as your drone controller.

If you don’t have one, pick up an unofficial cheap one on Amazon.

Set zoom to 60 to stop fish eye

Set the bottom two speed setting to 3 and 10.

Use W S A D ( R and F to move up and down) and at the same time rotate with Num Pad 4 and 6, use 8 and 2 tilt look up and down and 7 and 9 to level view if it goes off level.

Use left hand on WSAD and right hand to use Num pad.

That's helpful. Thanks guys.  I sim on PC and wonder whether I could use a second joystick to position and control the drone?

Also, I'm not quite sure what settings to use in the drone menu.  It's automatically set to follow the plane, but I'm not quite sure how to set the sliders and other settings.

yes you absolutely can do that. in fact a lot of people use an Xbox controller for that purpose.

...and contrary to a suggestion above, Playstation controllers no longer work with MSFS.

Eh? I’m using one right now. Solely for the drone.

Interesting...I wonder if they re-enabled support. I have a PS5 controller and it used to work. I'll have to check.

Thanks

Taking advantage of the topic, I also don't know how to use the internal view (example: leaving the cockpit and going to the seats in the Fenix, or moving around the aerodrome near the aircraft or even inside the airport when it offers support. Any possibility of using the mouse for this question? Thank you all.

Thank you for posting this. I was wondering the same thing. A lot of Youtube reviewers get out of their planes to show the airports they are at and I have never been able to do that like they can. I think there was a slew command in FSX. The Y keyboard key seems to ring a bell. It does not seem the same but it works.
