June 28, 20223 yr …. So, I have finally pulled the trigger and purchased a new rig for MSFS with PMDG and ORBX add-ons. A Ryzen 7 5800x3d, Nvidia RTX 3090… with Corsair 32gb vengeance ram on an Asus ROG crosshair VIII Hero. A dedicated Samsung 2TB ssd for MSFS alone. Hoping to move my dials to ultra after 2 years of Ryzen 7 5200 and Nvidia 1080ti with 16gb ram…. Looking for recommendations on a solid monitor to pair with this rig….

You have a very similar set-up to mine - here's the monitor I bought to go with it: https://www.dell.com/en-uk/shop/dell-27-gaming-monitor-s2721dgfa/apd/210-axrq/monitors-monitor-accessories It's had some great write-ups. An additional benefit is four USB ports at the back - you have to give one up on your PC, so the net gain is 3 ports, but very handy for your peripherals. I'm very pleased with it. Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org
June 29, 20223 yr I bought this 27" 1440P last year and it is amazing. I came from a 23" 1080P. With your 3090 you'd probably want 4k though. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
June 29, 20223 yr I have a 3090 card setup and two monitors , 1440P Gaming 165hz and this Dell S2721QS 4K. I use the native 4K monitor all the time for MSFS. Once you go 4K it's hard to go back. Semper Fi
June 29, 20223 yr Why not consider something better than a monitor, however good it might be? I have been using an Epson 7100 4K projector (with a system very similar to yours, see specifications below) giving me lifelike cockpits and total immersion thanks to Track IR. The 4K 27" Dell S2721QS is there as a secondary display on which I have the Aivlasoft EFB moving map and, when needed, I can also switch the Simulator on it when I do long-hauls or the flight planning. The feeling you get when looking at real life size instruments cannot be beaten, I was finally able to read the small digits on all my instruments without having to undock or zoom them. If you need more input, I'd be happy to share it with you. Bernard CPU = 12900K / GPU = Nvidia 3090 VRAM 24 GB / RAM = 64 GB / SSD = 2 TB 980 PRO PCle 4.0 NVMe™ M.2,
