"At the same time we actually have plans to bring the Comanche over to XPlane because that platform has been advancing so much."

It's not an absolute compromise, but looks promissing, although in X-Plane's land we do not need as much "miracles" as they used to be necessary in fsx / p3d because the core flight dynamics are already much more detailled ... Anyway we do have enhancements for various aircraft like the REP mods and so on, so, maybe Accusim for XP can bring yet another alternative, and it's always nice to see X-Plane being considered, as it deserves, by such an important developer.

I was long asking for this at their forums 🙂 until I gave up using P3D or FSX for GA, and concentrated only on airliners for a while...

If A2A bring Commanche over to Xplane I will get it. I already Bonanza and Skylane in P3D. Have those two and Commanche in FSX Steam. I just bought Xplane 11 for 20 bucks Steam sale. Have controllers set up nice and flying the 172 around my local Susquehanna Valley, PA area. I don't know why so many complaints about scenic detail. I can easily VFR and follow roads in my area. Default looks as accurate as Orbx enhanced in P3D and so far the regional airports I have landed at look closer to realize than default FSX/P3D. The controller mapping is much more extensive and real world weather looks right on out the window checks. My only negative is that silly ATC. I can't find how to tune ATIS either for local conditions. Helpful for selecting a runway.

Have a look at Pilot2ATC for the ability to verbally interact with ATC.  Expensive, but addresses all the ATC shortcomings in Xplane 11 and includes decent flight planning and a moving map.

I have considered it but is doesn't interact and control AI traffic, does it. Doesn't have basic UNICOM capability either does it? I sim GA single mostly. Either Cessna or Beech Bonanza. If I were to choose multi I would fly Baron. And in P3D the Golden Eagle is my go to. Honestly, if Austin would have been content two years ago to just overhaul ATC, traffic, and weather XP 11 would blow P3D 5 out of the sky and be free of the MS umbrella. There is huge potential.

I also use Traffic Global and together can be coordinated so that Pilot2ATC is aware of traffic and give you warnings, though it won’t talk to AI traffic.

Give it a close look. I’m just a satisfied customer not affiliated in any way.

For ATC without AI control, try X-ATC-Chatter and its SimpleATC. It's the most versatile ATC solution I have found so far (VFR, IFR and  and the real recorded background chatter does add some immersion.

Simple ATC can be tested for free unrestricted with any beta release, but the ATC clip collection in the actual plugin release costs $15.
