Incompatible addons/mods with SU10 Beta

Probably won't help 😱

got a msg from another user saying that the map doesn't work for him (simconnect error). Probably they changed something, i also read in the SU10 post here on avsim that there have been some changes in some files like the content.xml so that would break some other features of AL too.

Unfortunately i don't have the beta (and mega scared to install it 🙊🙊) so i'm a bit helpless at the moment and can't really help you out, sorry for that 😥

** edit .. sent you little test version via private message to see if maybe it helps .. shot in the dark because i can't test as explained above  😱 **

Hello and thank you again and again for your essential tool and for the kind support 🙂.
I have 2 good news for you.
First, AL's map is now working.
Second, I didn't have to use your test version.
I've just deleted the content within the MSFS_Addons_Linker folder (the main one, not the one in C:/ProgramData) and replaced it with the same content freshly downloaded from flightsim.to and that did the trick, even though I was already using the latest build. Go figure...

BTW, I sincerely advise you to jump in and install the Beta. You will be very pleased with the performances' improvement, as well with the subtle visual enhancement.
Don't be scared :--)))
My single recommendation is to back up your content.xml file in case something goes wrong and you wish to revert to the official version.
Asobo has made some significant progresses in their Beta process and we can say that this one is particularly harmless.

Tested

- Fenix A320,

- PMDG 737 with the last update from a couple days ago,

- SWS Kodiak

- default Caravan,

all in DX12, no DLSS as of yet - all did run & perform OK !

The Kodiak was definitely fine in DX12?  It used to have issues didn't it?  Maybe I missed a Kodiak update.

Thanks for the feedback, cool if it's working again. 👍

As for the beta, well i would be very interested and curious to try but i'm scared because i've read in the past some people having to redownload the full game when the beta ends and the official update comes out, it's probably a small minority but i don't dare to take the risk . There's even some warnings on the official page that something like this might happens (from MS officials -> There is always a risk that you may have to re-install the sim when joining/leaving a flight, so please keep this in mind before participating) so i'm just too scared. Redownloading the full sim (probably 200+ GB i guess now with all the WU) would be killing for me (initial install took 4 days of endless looping slow downloads, i will probably never reinstall the sim until i change PC 🙊)

I am far from my sim PC but I recall having installed an update arround 2 weeks ago.

I enabled DX12 but not DLSS.

But, I will check later today and report back the version I am using as well as the results with DLSS.

EDIT: Kodiak installer reads - "Installer_SWS_Kodiak_Wheels_MSFS_20220608"

@Bad_T
I understand. 😉
(You probably already know that the risk exists only if you installed MSFS in its default location. Fortunately, mine is on a dedicated hard drive and I never faced this problem)

For some reason my CJ4 and Longitude mods resulted in white LCD screens in the cockpit (resolved when I removed the mods)

There is a post on the WT discord about this. They have provided an alternate panel.cfg for the CJ4 to use with SU10 that will fix this problem, but you would have to be a discord user to get the file.

Hopefully they will provide an updated mod that includes the fix.

1/ In case someone missed it, there is a temporary fix for AIG.
See here:

2/ And if you are using the PMS GTN750, there is a working version for the Beta on the author's discord channel.

FSUIPC7 doesn't work in the current SU10 beta.

"I cannot support FSUIPC on the MSFS beta. sorry.

I am closing this topic."

That's John Dowson in the FSUIPC7 support forum.

Sounds logical. Depending on whats required to recode for SU10 beta, it may not be worth it to do the work just for a short term beta.

Yes.  Pointless making changes at the moment.  The code may change over the coming weeks.
Asobo made two changes to another beta this year before it was passed forward as a proper update.

I agree. There are sim pilots that use FSUIPC to control button, switches, axis (axises, axes) and wanted to save them the headache of joining the beta and then leaving it so their sim would work again. John made the reply pretty evident an update for the beta is not on his to-do list.
