Ocean and Horizon with EAS

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have attached a couple of pics of how bad the ocean and the horizon looks like when flying over water.

I am not flying close to land, so those are not mountains.

Does anybody know of any adjustment that can minize this terrible effect?

Thanks and regards

Juan

Wow I have never seen anything like that!  Are you using 3D clouds?  I gave up on those and use 2D clouds with EA. While I am not thrilled with the 2D clouds they seem to be the better option.

Hello Bruce, I am not using any third party clouds. But it is not a cloud issue. The day was perfectly clear, only the typical haze of EAS.

Ducaud - that is a mesh issue and area tile issue. Instead of reading the level or flat ocean mesh it is misreading or your underlying mesh has somehow been corrupted. It may only be specific to a particular geographical area. There is not adjustment possible except to do a reinstallation of the base P3D Scenery and get a new terrain config file as well, Have you by any chance installed some new scenery lately that may have caused the corruption?

This problem will show up when P3d has been set to "MINIMIZE" for an extended period of time.  This happens to me from time to time.   I just let it rebuild, usually takes less than a minute.

Thanks Coastaldriver,

I have not installed any new software lately. I might hav happened before, as I do not usually do long flights over ocean. Over land I do not not see any issues.

Hello Bode, I have never used minimize while flying, so I guess is not caused by that.

Thanks
