July 21, 200619 yr These first appeared back when I was heavily into RC flying and initially were north of $4000. Now I understand some can be had for around $1000 depending on the brand. Flying in the US you needed a special waiver from the AMA but I don't know if this is still the case now, I havent flown RC in 10 years or so.
