August 13, 20223 yr A topic in the main MSFS forum here was talking about FeelThere's airports, and somebody mentioned their OMDB. I hadn't really registered that they'd done a version of that. I have a couple of their airports - they're not great by any means but they were just good enough to be worth buying (on sale from JF I seem to remember). I went to look at OMDB on SimMarket, but the video was a bit off-putting - it didn't actually look any better than how I remembered the default. So I thought I'd go back and look again at the default. When I say "default" I mean in the premium, or whatever it's called, version of the sim, as I think this might be one of the tarted up airports in that version. So just a couple of shots. Got AIG running for these as well. You can see in this next shot that it looks like proper glass with an interior for the terminal, which is not anything I notice with the FeelThere video or pix. In fact there is a (basic) interior modelled in the default version, but the drone cam locked up if I went inside and I didn't manage to get a picture To me, it looked very much like the addon version (which is quite pricey - 28 USD) is really not much more than a few extra trucks maybe and possibly some ground markings. All the main buildings in these shots looked unchanged in the add-on. I don't know what the version of OMDB in the standard version of MSFS looks like, but if it's very basic and you want to get a better version, I'd say you be better off spending a little bit more and upgrading the sim rather than dropping money on the FeelThere airport..That would get you a decent OMDB, a pretty good EGLL and a few extra aircraft thrown in. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

I fully agree with that. Great shots too, btw 🙂 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080

Thanks P, not been there for real, in fact only had a couple of trips to the Middle East back in my travelling days. Can't say I enjoyed either of them. The individuals I met and worked with were great, wonderful folk, but I didn't take to the culture. Not really thinking about Dubai here, that place just seems like a rich man's holiday camp anyway (culture? what culture?)
