August 21, 20223 yr Another successful conversion project. The HJG Convair 880 in P3D - ready to roll at Fly Tampa's Kai Tak (Hong Kong) A compatible and comparable VC from another model adds another touch to this one which never was done for FSX by anybody and was always a big gap for me in the world of jet airliners.
August 22, 20223 yr Great shot. I tried to port her over to MSFS, no cigar. But then I got the De Havilland 106 Comet working in MSFS, including the VC with most of the gauges working. That made my day. 🙂 Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
August 22, 20223 yr Nice shot, and not an aircraft you see very often All my FSX/P3D repaints are here on Avsim, for my MSFS repaints, go to FS.2
August 23, 20223 yr Author Thanks yes always a shame this one never attracted any interest from modelers or developers in FSX or P3D and I suspect not for MSFS either. Bit of a curiosity but a lovely looking aeroplane with good handling and no particular idiosynchrosies. Yes they were fast and cruised at close to M0.90 you could use the gear as speedbrakes at about 240 kts and the instrument approach was flown at about 220 kts. In real life just could not get a foot hold in the commercial market, not a particularly large pax numbers either but a fuel burn that made the accountants weep I guess. Anyway - thanks to MCX and a little work got this one going and into a modern sim. No complaints from me. Oh and Fly Tampa's Kai Tak is a gem of a scenery as well. Gives you a very good Hong Kong City as well - bonus! Edited August 23, 20223 yr by coastaldriver
