the 12900KS makes my 3090 Strix OC GPU bound - Ultra settings at 3440x1440,

the 12900 has really good single thread performance,

& the 3090 Strix hums along nicely…

Let me elaborate,

The first system I built back in June I paid $1,200 for a brand new 3080TI from a private seller. 2 months later I paid the exact same for a brand new 3090, again from a private seller. Both cards I had checked with EVGA regarding transferring the warranty and it wasn’t an issue.

I guess may not be a song but the 3090 was significantly below what it was being sold for locally at Canada Computers which at the time was around $1,600 including taxes. I’m sure prices will continue to fall, I’m curious now to see how much they are in store now.

I guess the point I was trying to make was there are some deals to be had out there if you’re prepared to do a little homework.

Of course! I have an aging i5 9600KF paired with a RTX 3080 (10gb model) and 32gb of RAM. It gives me a steady 30-35 fps at 4K (Render scale set to 80), no stutters most situations with Fenix A320 and PMDG 737. Here are the tweaks / settings that I have applied to make it happen

Wow I just checked CC and the same EVGA FTW3 3090 I have is $1,795 incl taxes

Man do we ever get ripped off by store prices here in Canada, I guess I did get a good deal on mine after all
