  1. What’s the chance that you’ll purchase the Somnium VR1, Then you’ll have your Display Port for sure…
  2. Looking forward to hear of your experience when you decide…
  3. Sounds like you haven’t tuned your Quest 3 properly, My Quest Pro with AirLink far outperforms, with better display quality, than my Rift S, If your hellbent on Display Port the get a Crystal - you may be disappointed with its build quality though…
  4. Xbox development is an art, So much has already been achieved with MSFS on the Xbox platform… good for our flightsim hobby!
  5. Really need to give my trusty crystal ball a polish! 🙂
  6. The fact is OXRToolkit is no longer supported & it crashed my MSFS & the Oculus software works fine without OXRToolkit, the OXRToolkit developer recommends to not use his software now (very sensible advice)…
  7. Just interested if you have used Oculus VR & have OpenXR Toolkit installed?
  8. Yeah, OpenXR Toolkit crashed my installed MSFS - sim would not load - crashed at about 80% loading… This is the problem with unsupported software, & my Oculus VR software is working perfectly now - phew!
  9. The Quest 3 is a reasonable choice for your rig specs, & you will need to carefully tune whilst learning all the VR variables, a 3060 GPU would struggle to run any higher resolution VR headset…
  10. The differences between drivers is usually minimal & this one mentioned is stable at the least, far more can be achieved with sensible VR tuning, definitely hoping for VR improvements in MSFS 2024…
  11. Quest Pro still working well here, has local dimming, has DCI-P3 colours…
  12. Glad I didn’t fall for the trap of PMDG 737 NGXu - wasn’t worth it…
  13. Personally, just lock frame rate whilst using motion smoothing (Oculus ASW), far better result for intense helicopter flying in dense scenarios…
  14. What’s the Real Traffic coverage like in places like China, now? When last tried it, the coverage was very patchy to non-existent…
  15. raw FPS is maybe not the best measure, the excellent Quest ASW - motion smoothing - is the best IMO for smooth VR performance, & I must note that it is quite apparent that ‘flightsimguy’ does not do many/any reviews of heavy VR scenarios like KLAX/KSFO/EGGL, it is in these heavy scenarios when it is very important to tune well, the Quest Pro still excels for me in these situations - YMMV 🙂
  16. Quite a few are obtaining more than acceptable VR performance using wireless AirLink or Virtual Desktop, Still getting great wireless VR performance with Quest Pro - even though about 2yo HMD, Just need to know how to tune it properly…
  17. So sad, my expensive P3D collection of add ons is now basically defunct, but, I was pleased to support the developers while it lasted, & in support of LM et al - still have P3Dv5 installed for nostalgic reasons…
  18. What about the quality of the optical stack? The Quests’ pancakes are really very good…
  19. Instead of you selectively & deceptively misquoting, It is indeed Meta /Oculus that actually has the lion’s share of the $capital dedicated to the hardware & software & R&D in the VR space in 2024…
  20. I prefer using the still excellent Quest Pro with AirLink - just love the freedom while flying untethered, Also, I know how to tune it well, & the DCI-P3 beautiful colours with eye tracking as well - plus no chromatic aberrations, Enjoy your VR1 as much as I do the Quest Pro… Very happy in VR for now!
  21. You make out that you’ve actually tried the VR1, The Quest Pro is a mighty fine headset when tuned correctly - without having the on paper PPD of the VR1, Plus, all the wonderful standalone experiences of the Quest, So you can laugh all you like!
  22. Are you actually sure of this? Somnium & Pimax both have fugly form factors, & how stable/cashed up are these ‘manufacturers’?
  23. In VR most of the time, Just deleted the AutoFPS hack mod, Everything working well now, Not worth ‘chasing rainbows’…
  24. It’s easy really, Choose the KSFO version you like, Personally, chose the Flightbeam version - because I’ve done lots of business with them before…
  25. I’ve only trusted the Oculus/Meta Quest HMDs, They actually have the $capital to stay in the game, My Quest Pro colours are exceptional - absolutely no chromatic aberration… As always - caveat emptor
