Caught a possum on the porch camera a couple months ago. No bears, thank goodness.

Supposed to be good eatin'!  Possum stew sounds mighty fine!  Don't be squeamish, but bear steak was one of the best I ever had!  A friend of my brother-in-law shot him up in Alaska (legally) and gave him a couple of bear steaks.

Be careful eating bear meat Charlie.  Make sure it is well cooked.  Bear meat is notorious for carrying trichinosis.  Like pigs and humans they are omnivores.  But I agree it is pretty good.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Had this happen a few years ago!  Less than 1/2 mile from my house!  We get reports of coyotes (which I have seen) every once in a while, also!

There's a picture out there on the web of a cougar caught at night on a trail cam just a couple of miles from my house. It's interesting to even know they are out there, because I had no idea before

This particular mountain lion was seen on the Golden Gate Bridge cameras about 2 am crossing over from Marin County.  That's how he got into the city.

Edit: what we do have is tons and tons of suicidal deer.

What you do have is humans having built houses, roads and industry all over where these animals used to roam.
The deer are not suicidal, the humans are killing them.

Nah, they're suicidal. They just like it more if they can take some humans with them, when they go.....

More seriously, it's pretty unerving to see them (often and at night) on the side the road when you are driving, knowing that at any second they can decide to jump in front of you, and ruin the day of all Involved....
