first couple of shots from XP 12

Recommended Posts

So far, so disappointing. I know it's early access, and I definitely need to re-discover how to do a lot of stuff in XP (get all my controllers mapped properly again etc), but my first impressions are that it looks nothing like as slick as the demo videos I've seen previously. Not that I'm hugely surprised by that, as it seems to be an industry norm, but it doesn't feel any different to my XP 11 setup. In fact on first glance it feels like a bit of a backward step. But we'll see. I wasn't going to go for it initially, figuring I'd wait a while for something nearer finished, but I went back and looked at a few of the teaser videos and let myself be persuaded. I was always going to buy this at some point so I figured - what the word probably not allowed!

Feels smooth though. This is with Obx's Florida True Earth, and most settings maxed. I'll try around So-Cal next, and see what of my XP11 stuff works with it. LA in XP11 with all the bits and pieces I have for that is still possibly my fav area in any sim, certainly in my top three or so.

So here we go, nothing special, just thought I'd share them

Good to see these shots from XP12 Andy , it is better ; but a long way to go to match MSFS IMHO .

I don't ever expect it to match MSFS, in the sense that MSFS has got the whole global scenery thing going for it, and I can't see XP ever achieving that. But in places where I have found good extra add-ons for XP11 (mainly US west coast and primarily around LA) it actually exceeds MSFS for me as it has far better roads/rails, and for a roof height flyer that makes a big difference. So I hope I'll be able to either get thatr stuff working in XP12 or upgrades will come along for it. I'm all for a second (and third, fourth etc) viable sim, but at first glance xp12 over xp11 so far is a bit "meh" for me, but I'm willing to accept that that may be my fault. I'll play some more in the coming days.

I think nothing ( at the moment ) can beat MSFS and i would not playing around with two Flightsims - me never, there's to mutch to do with only one Sim ( holding everything updated ect, ect.. ) but that is just my opinion..

And not to speak from buying all the Addons for the second Simulator - no thanks !

cheers 😉

Its not on par with MSFS,but MSFS doesn't have a 727 so I'll be buying XP12 to run my 727.

That is exactly why I have purchased XP12. Not only for the 727, but also for the A340-600, MD-11, 737-200/300, etc. 😀

Sure, but I have them all already for XP12. Once they come for MSFS, I might or might not re-purchase them.
