September 14, 20223 yr I purchased this L39 single from the MP today (had a bit of hassle doing it as I'm not a fan of the MP - but it did go through finally). For 7.50 USD (plus maybe a bit of vat or tax) it's honestly a decent addon. It's not a PMDG jet or an A2A GA but it has a lot of character. The flight model is decent, I felt like I was flying a jet. The visibility from the canopy is excellent. I also chose this for the avionics.... knowing that once WT releases their GNS refresh this plane will get even better. I already owned the 'Red Thunder' L39, with glass G3X and GNS. I still like that one but the G3X is not great...and this L39 has beautiful analogue HSI and VOR. It's also got pleasant red cockpit lighting and it won't glare off the canopy unlike the RT version with G3X. It's also got basic anti icing capabilities, and quality sounds honestly. I'm very surprised at how decent it is. I've got a strong feeling that Mike Johnson, of Lotussim fame, had a hand in this product. There are a few quirks. There's not really an autopilot, but there is a device to the left of the cockpit and frequently an altitude alerter goes off (annoyingly). If you pick this product up you must press the button once and it will go away. I did bind some controls to default AP ALT and HDG hold so I can have some cross country abilities. There is a texture mismatch on the GS/GP side of the HSI - it's tough to tell you're on center for glideslope but you can still see the edge of the ball. There are some other inop functions so don't expect everything working like the classic Lotus L39 but I am fine with it for the price. I can see myself shooting approaches and buzzing around clouds in this thing often! Hopefully you consider spending the small amount for a bit of fun as well.
