Pre / Post SU10 DLSS

Featured Replies

CPU / GPU AMD 5900x used to run at 2% and 3060TI was at 100%.  With SU10 / DX12 with DLSS (new driver) 16% and 16%.  Seems like a good update.   FPS still at 60.  LOD200.

Excellent!  What screen resolution?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Early tests on my system suggest that TAA looks better than DLSS quality on my system and little difference in performance.

I need to do some more testing in different environments, but waiting for the Nvidia driver before trying DX12 which might yield better results.

Noticed the MS servers were a bit slow yesterday and kept warning me that I had sufficient bandwidth to run photogramic scenery (Warning should really say it's not your bandwidth it's ours!).

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

Try DX12 with DLSS quality on the new studio drivers and crank up the new sharpening to the max (200). Looks great on my 3080. frame rate the same as before ( 50fps ) . which is more than you really need. ( C414 with the TDS GTN )

Im at 1440 resolution and really happy my GPU is doing way less work.  IQ is still very sharp.

With DLSS do you not see blurry cockpit textures when instruments change? For example the thrust level on the A320 is a blur everytime it changes. The % numbers are practically unreadable until it stops increasing or decreasing. A number of people are reporting this and I see it as well but then I read about people happy with DLSS and I wonder if its less of a problem with gauge type GA planes or is it only bothering some of us or if its dependent on dx11/dx12 or graphics card or drivers.

Ive been running DLSS the whole beta period. And yes the blurring on speedtapes etc. is distracting. I only get it in glass cockpits like the G1000 and similar.

Apart from this I get as good IQ with DLSS as TAA. I've added a bit of sharpening using ReShade, and the images are amazingly detailed, even with DLSS.
