October 1, 20223 yr Just thought I would share a little information with you guys. Running a n RTX3080 with a 5600X I found very little difference in framerates between the two and like many of you ran TAA as the loss of FPS was minimal and TAA was slightly better - the trade off was not worth it. However, I just swapped out my 5600X for a 5800X3D and the difference in FPS between the two is massive at exactly the same settings. Where I was getting 80 FPS in TAA, I just switched over to DLSS quality and the FPS jumped to 120, so I will be sticking with that. I run at mostly ultra settings with a LOD of 300 (though anything above 250 was a bit of a strain). I'm using the new studio Nvidia driver in DX12. So it seems that the real benefits of DLSS shine with a faster CPU, though the L3 cache must be having some impact. I do normally cap at 30 FPS for smoothness and it taxes my system less preferring to trade my extra FPS for better quality I will do a bit more testing over the next few days and see how things go. I understand that the fixes in the game ready driver were already in the studio driver. October 2, 20223 yr In VR the resolution is so high that most systems are probably gpu limited, I think. Anyway in VR, DLSS shows me about 50% better fps than does TAA. DLSS gives a smaller boost when I'm not in VR. (I can't see the Developers Mode FPS screen in VR to see what's what). I can see the fps by using OXR Toolkit, but that's just a single number like 43.7 or whatever. FPS Dev Mode screen shows up fine in 2D but never in VR on my system. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

Exactly the same fixes, and performance tests conducted by various people on line show no difference. I am also running the studio driver with no issues and excellent performance. Basically, no point installing the newer game ready driver over the latest studio driver - until something else changes of course! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's. Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.
