August 15, 200718 yr Hello!I have now exactly the same problem. Is it possible to solve, anyone???????KindlyJakob Arnholtz
August 16, 200718 yr Hi again.I solved my problem last night. I disabled my Kaspersky internet security, and bingo! trackIr finally recogniced FS X. Next step will be to decide wether it is the firewall, antivirus or other parts of Kasperskys rather extensive software, wich interfere with trackIr.KindlyJakob Arnholtz
August 16, 200718 yr Many new Flight Simulator add-on products connect to Flight Simulator X (FSX) via the new SimConnect Application Programming Interface (API). When you run FSX with an add-on installed, some non-Microsoft firewall and antivirus applications (such as ZoneAlarm) may detect that FSX is attempting to make a network connection and display a dialog asking you to allow or block this connection. This
August 17, 200718 yr Thanks for the info Vince. My problem is somewhat different. I bought TIR4 with the Track Clip around April 07. It installed perfectly and worked brilliantly and consistently until a only few weeks ago.Right now it completely refuses to operate. I see the two preview heads operate perfectly well when previewing from the tools menu, but it does not connect with the sim.I acknowledge that there may have been some changes between the time it was installed and the time it stopped working, but right now I have both no virus checker or firewall operating or even installed for that matter.Removing those two items (nervously, leaving me quite concerned) was done based on this thread, in an effort to resolve this non operational status. This is really frustrating. Is there anything else that you can suggest and my Au$300+ investment is pretty much useless at the moment. With thanks,Chris Porter:-outtaPerthWestern AustraliaIntel Core 2 Duo E6700ASUS P5N32-E SLI Deluxe Motherboard4GB Corsair VS DDR2 667Mhz RAMInno3D 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 590MHz VideoASUS MW221u 21" Wide Screen LCD2 x 320Gb WD SATA DrivesCreative X-Fi Platinum Sound Lian Li PC-B20B Aluminium Black CaseMS Vista Ultimate OEMCH FlightSim Yoke USBCH Pro Pedals USBCH Throttle Quadrant USBTrackIR 4 Pro and Track Clip (non operational)MSFS FSX Deluxe Edition Full install at 1400x960x32Check out my 5th Around the World flight with MS FSX at http://members.iinet.com.au/~portercbp/fly...W_05/index.html Core i7 3820 | Asus P9X79-DELUX SLI M/b | 32GB Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz RAM | DeepCool Gemmaxx CoolernVidia GTX580 1536MB GDDR3 Video | ASUS MW221u 21" WS LCD2 x Kingston V300 240gb SSD RAID for OS and FSX | 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1Tb SATA HD's in RAID | 1 x 1Tb ext b/up driveAntec P193 Case | Corsair 1000W PSU | MS Win 7 Professional 64 BitMy website and aviation photo gallery - www.christopherbporter.com
August 21, 200718 yr Have you tried reinstalling SimConnect from the SDK?Do you have any 3rd party add-on software installed?
August 21, 200718 yr Hey guys. Just something I remembered. This was on FS2004, so might not apply to FSX.However, I remember I was trying to make some videos, but I didn't want the messages popping up to ruin the videos. So I added that little statement to the Main section of the fs9.cfg fileSorry, the name escapes me right now; but it's the one that takes away ALL the messages. I think its ShowMessage=x, where x is 1 or 0.At anyrate, my TrackIR 3 and 4 was working fine. Then all of the sudden it wouldn't connect to FS2004 anymore.Don't remember were I found the info. But, after remarking out the showmessage thingy, it connected right away. Seems with that in the cfg file, it was somehow preventing the TrackIR from seeing FS2004.So, if you have been doing vids, and added this statement....might be worth a try.I haven't loaded FSX as of yet...so I don't know anything re the trackIR and FSx and simconnect.Good Luck.Best,David
August 21, 200718 yr Yep, good tip for FS2004, but FSX likes to do things a little different, and with Simconnect the way the TrackIR software talks to FSX is very different as well.
August 22, 200718 yr How Do I adjust seat eye point? (fore, aft, left, right,up down)I am able to do this in CF9.TrackIR seems to interfere with this function in FSX. August 22, 200718 yr You actually have to go into each aircraft.cfg file, and adjust the eyepoint there
August 24, 200718 yr Hi.I've got a TrackIR issue as well, and thought I should post it here rather than starting a new thread. The problem is that Track IR 'stutters' (v4 w TrackClip Pro).
August 24, 200718 yr In the TrackIR software, under View -> Tracking, what do you see on the tracking screen?Do you have the trackclip pro selected in all the profiles, or vector? In the following folder location, C:Program FilesNaturalPointTrackIR4Profiles, what is the file size for each profile?
August 27, 200718 yr >Have you tried reinstalling SimConnect from the SDK?>>Do you have any 3rd party add-on software installed?Vince,Yes I have tried reinstalling SimConnect from the SDK and there has been no improvement.I have several 3rd party add-on software titles installed... These include...All FSGenesis FSX titlesActive Sky weather engineSeveral FSX enabled aircraftFSX enabled scenery development softwarePlease note that without exception, they all work as advertised. I really find it strange that TrackIR which once worked, now fails to do so, possibly following the installation of some other piece of software. As mentioned previously, the cost of the TrackIR 4 with the track clip addition cost a small fortune here in Australia. Unfortunately at the moment, for the purpose of simming, they are about as useful as mammary glands on a bull.I certainly hope that you will not recommend that I uninstall my other add-on products to discover what is conflicting with TrackIR. That would be way too much. Do you have some beta versions of your drivers that may not be so fussy that I could try out?Cheers,Chris Porter:-outtaPerthWestern AustraliaIntel Core 2 Duo E6700ASUS P5N32-E SLI Deluxe Motherboard4GB Corsair VS DDR2 667Mhz RAMInno3D 8800 GTX 768MB GDDR3 590MHz VideoASUS MW221u 21" Wide Screen LCD2 x 320Gb WD SATA DrivesCreative X-Fi Platinum Sound Lian Li PC-B20B Aluminium Black CaseMS Vista Ultimate OEMCH FlightSim Yoke USBCH Pro Pedals USBCH Throttle Quadrant USBTrackIR 4 Pro and Track ClipMSFS FSX Deluxe Edition Full install at 1400x960x32Check out my 5th Around the World flight with MS FSX at http://members.iinet.com.au/~portercbp/fly...W_05/index.html Core i7 3820 | Asus P9X79-DELUX SLI M/b | 32GB Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz RAM | DeepCool Gemmaxx CoolernVidia GTX580 1536MB GDDR3 Video | ASUS MW221u 21" WS LCD2 x Kingston V300 240gb SSD RAID for OS and FSX | 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1Tb SATA HD's in RAID | 1 x 1Tb ext b/up driveAntec P193 Case | Corsair 1000W PSU | MS Win 7 Professional 64 BitMy website and aviation photo gallery - www.christopherbporter.com
August 27, 200718 yr Within FSX, the main issue boils down to something with within SimConnect gets changed, or breaks which then can break 3rd party software, such as TrackIR.Do you have a simconnect.xml file installed on your system?
August 27, 200718 yr Hi Vince,Just wanted to let you know my issue is fixed. In fact, after troubleshooting for a long time, swapping usb connections around, uninstalling the epson printer and so on, it turned out to be the distance between trackclip pro and the sensor... Doh!Many thanks for the support anyway!Aleks
