My MSFS Disappeared From MS Store Account

Featured Replies

We’re a couple weeks from Halloween, but MSFS is providing me an early scare. I booted my system, and Windows 10 launched normally. I then attempted to start MSFS, which did not go normally. After the initial splash screen, I got a dialogue box telling me that a MS app dealing with “in store package dependency” needed to run. I allowed this, but that led to an error message informing me that I did not have access to MSFS in my MS store account, with the error identified as “0x803F8001” should I need it.
I then opened my MS store account, went to my library, and found to my horror that there were no traces of MSFS 2020 in my store account, though I had purchased the Deluxe Edition from the store early this year. The MSFS files are still intact in the folder where I installed MSFS and my community folder contains all the add-ons I have purchased since the start.
I tried a System Restore to a restore point from earlier today, to no effect.
The last change I made to my install of MSFS was the purchase and install of the Felix a320 4 days ago.  But the game ran fine on the several occasions I ran it before today.
Would greatly appreciate any advice on how to restore my access to the sim.
And if I have to reinstall (horrors!), how will I prove to the MS Store that I have previously purchased this product?

My system:  Ryzen 5800X CPU, EVGA RTX 3800 (12 Gb), 32 Gb ram, Asus ROG Strix B-550 gaming MB, 4 Samsung 1 Tb SSD drives.

Thanks,

Rich

The issue has been resolved. I was able to find and start MSFS in the Xbox app, and then reset the Windows store app.  Now MSFS starts normally and all seems to be well. Dodged a bullet maybe!

XBox fun 🙂🙂

This happened to me just now,

Was flying all day yesterday with zero issues and I just went to fire up the sim and it started then immediately quit. I looked in the MS store and it was also gone.

Went to the Xbox app per the OP and started it from there.

What are Microsoft playing at !

OK for some reason I now have to have the Xbox app permanently open or the sim won't start. I tried resetting the MS Store app but it made no difference

Now I cannot start the sim from any shorcut, be it a desktop shortcut created from the Xbox app or pinning the MSFS application to the start menu. Each time the sim CTD's straight after the first loading screen. I can only start the sim directly from the MS Store or the Xbox store

Anyone else seen this?

I had to reload Windows due to constant 0x00.. errors.  When I reloaded MSFS was not in the Windows Store.  Contact with MS online and over the phone have not been helpful to resolve my issue.  My original purchase was through Newegg and they provided me with a code that was redeemed in the MS Store.  I played many, many times in the past.  I has only recently disappointed and MS help can’t find any trace of the game on my account.  Has this happened to anyone else??

Edit.  It has only recently disappeared.

I  guess you know that you have to use your old user name (Xbox name) and password. All your MSFS assets are associated with that user name and you can't lose them unless you forget your username. You have to tell MSFS helpdesk your username.

Your username is the name that used to appear by the icon in the upper right of the MSFS homepage screen, in the game.
