New sidestick option in Fenix A320

Featured Replies

With the latest Fenix update (v1.0.5.139) a new option was introduced to set the sidestick Lighter or Heavier. Did anybody already tried this option and if so, where can I find it and does it work well?

Thanks.

Kind regards,
Hans van WIjhe

You may just want to keep it on the default "lighter" option. This what it does:

- Sidestick lighter/heavier: we perhaps didn't explain this too well in the announcement, but all this does is change the default sensitivity curves on our side; heavier is designed specifically for hydraulically dampened Airbus sidestick replicas, lighter is more for standard PC hardware like TCA, Logitech, VPK etc. 99.9% of you should leave this in "lighter" mode.

Thanks, Matt. I have the Thrustmaster TCA sidestick, so I better stick to "Lighter" then.

In what scenario would you want to use heavier?

None so far. I just wanted to find out what effect this setting has. Something similar as the settings on a Force Feedback joystick? And when I found out, I would set it to the setting that's most preferable for me. Did that clarify my question?

Kind regards,
Hans van WIjhe

If you own a hydraulically damped Airbus sidestick. So, something £2000+, think Brunner or the likes. Meant to go in a proper FTD or something like that.

I am using the Fsprojects stick.  https://www.fsprojects.eu/sidestick-a320-2.html  Would this be considered heavy or still use light?

Light. Your Sidestick is basically a very nice desktop Thrustmaster stick.

This is for what the 'heavy' selection is required.
