I chose introvert.

David,  perhaps you just need to get in with the right bunch.   Started flying bush with some guys from all around the world and found out that there were 4 or 5 CFI's, commercial and multi-engine.    One flew DC-3's,   737's,  and 787's.    Another is an Aussie bush pilot.   They have awesome aviation and life stories,   and anytime I want I can ask one of them anything I want.   Like asking a 78 pilot how to fly it.

But what I really like is the international aspect of if.   We had people from all time zone and continents.   Some couldn't speak English and didn't even try to speak.   We still loved their presence and it was a great experience.

I'm an addict, first to nicotine, then to golf + nicotine, then to golf plus motorcycling.  Behind all of these addictive type behaviors, and they qualify, I exhibit is flight simulation:  one addiction to rule them all 🙃.  I gave up tobacco 35y ago, golf I've hardly played in the past year or two after our evacuation from the infamous Camp Fire which destroyed our town in a matter of hours and prompted us to move out of state.  I still ride my other Dreamliner, the one pictured below, as much as able though now just locally more or less.  But if I had to give up any addictions flight simulation would be the absolute last to go!  I love the heck out of this activity and it's fun to banter online once at altitude as things can get a little boring there!

One area I am NOT addicted:  is the dog-chasing-its-tail hardware upgrade ritual.  I swear this is more than half the reason some are here.  I get that building something can be super rewarding and fun.  My prime example is the late (left flight simulation he said) RobA who had every piece of hardware imaginable always, then up and left when there wasn't much more to do, or so it looked like that from the outside.  I'm oversimplifying RobA of course he was very involved in helping others in this area, hardware mostly.

To get around the boring piece I use A Pilot's Life v2 which gives me a purpose to fly all the way from gate to gate as it scores every flight according to these criteria:

Unfortunately this is another area where people rarely assess themselves correctly. Except the guy that said he’s a pervert.

And as if to emphasize the point, not only people in general, but it seems pilots especially demonstrate lower ability to assess emotional / mental states:

What on earth could they mean😅?!
