December 14, 20223 yr Hello, I’ve finally started using Addon Linker and already thinking I should have started using this a long time ago. I’ve bought a mixture of things through 3rd parties and a lot just through the MSFS Marketplace. Anything I’ve bought in the Marketplace doesn’t appear in the Community folder. Is there an easy fix for this? I’m somewhat assuming that any future purchases should be made outside of Marketplace? Many thanks, Mike
December 14, 20223 yr Marketplace addons are in the Official/OneStore folder. You can move the Marketplace purchases into a custom folder and link them back into the Official folder with Addon Linker. I have done this with all my Marketplace addons to spread the Gb's over different SSD's. I keep these MP addons aways linked in so they get updated. You can enable this in Addon LInker via Options/Advanced Edited December 14, 20223 yr by Gerwil
December 14, 20223 yr Hello @mikethe6th yep @Gerwil gave you the correct info. Just to add something if you need more help, you can find some info about that feature in the link below (click on the bad_t replied to a topic link below to get straight to the post) On the top of page 28 you also have a screenshot from another user showing you the final result you should get. As always try first with a few addons to make sure all is ok before moving too much stuff, also important to know that if you go into the content manager and the link is not active, it will tell you that the addon is not installed, that's normal because well, if the link is not active the sim will not see the addon and tell you to redownload it, but you can obviously ignore that knowing that it's a normal situation because you have unlinked it. It's a bit more for 'advanced user' but it shouldn't be too hard once you undestant how it works. let me know if you need more help 🍻 Edited December 14, 20223 yr by Bad_T

I see you've woken up "the man" (Bad_T)!! 😊 There's a lot of useful information in previous posts. I avoid buying through Marketplace if I possibly can. Updates usually appear much later - and managing them via Linker is much easier. I've occasionally bought aircraft via Orbx Direct (managed by Orbx Central) and their updates are available very quickly after release. Addons Linker manages all my Orbx stuff (scenery and aircraft). You just need to set up your libraries and point the Linker to them.

Thanks so much for your help and fantastic tool.
December 15, 20223 yr You have to be careful though! If you set up an addon linker custom Official/OneStore folder and move all of your world update folders from the OneStore Folder to the Custom folder you need to identify which folder in the OneStore belongs to which which world update. Once you do that you should make a folder tree in your custom folder naming each folder after a World update and then you have to place the 10 or so folder for each world update in the appropriate folder. You can then turn world updates on/off in addon linker. HOWEVER, Sim updates sometimes include updates for World updates that include new folders that don't exist in the previous version of world update in question. So, even though you have the world update active in Addon linker when you install an update for a World update in the sim if that update includes a new file that does not have the same name as a file in the previous version the sim will put that file in Official/OneStore file and not in your custom folder. So when you then deactivate the Would update in Addon linker and then look in the Content manager in the SIM GUI that World up date instead of being listed as not installed will be listed as partially installed. You have to stay on top of this stuff otherwise it gets messy real fast. December 15, 20223 yr yep @FBW737 you're right, you have to be careful, that's a good advice. The option was mostly done for marketplace addons and other addons placed by third party vendors in the official/onestore folder. But if you start moving official asobo/microsoft content it's a bit more risky and you really need to know what you are doing. I know that some people have done that with great success but it's certainly not something that i would recommend to 'normal' users. That's why the option is geared a bit more for advanced users. 🍻
December 15, 20223 yr I'm having more trouble with SU11 than any other update, so the last thing I'd want to do at this stage is introduce the possibility of more problems. I'm leaving Official content well alone!!!
