Fenix A320 landing guide

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I’ve made the leap from P3D PMDG 777 to MSFS Fenix A320.

I could do with some guidance with approaches on landing. How much control input should I be making on the side stick? How much rudder etc? (I know it depends on conditions and winds but some general advice and examples would really help). When should flare begin and to what degree etc?

Thanks

Ben

Have you watched this?

To answer the question about control input would be very difficult, of course. This is very much a question of hardware configuration.

What helped me nail the landings down after struggling for months , was getting FSiPanel. I could practice landings at a rate of around 10 an hour, at all different airports, runways, and weather conditions. https://www.fsipanel.com/product/fsipanel-2020-for-msfs-2020-full-license/

In watched a few of the videos on the fsipanel youtube channel. This program seems to be very interesting and I think it might be worth the 30 Dollars. I will buy it soon, I think.

Key is as with any aircraft. A good approach.

Get yourself over the threshold at 50, ease the decent rate a little, small flare at 30. Idle at 20. Hold her off at 5 if you’ve got lots of touchdown zone otherwise let it fly on.

It really doesn’t need much of a flare, but if you are at too steep a descent coming over the threshold it’s gonna be a Ryanair job, or you’ll end up over flaring, and have to go around because missed touchdown zone. Most important part is the approach!
