rumbling sound fenix @ around 50 feet

Featured Replies

Hi there,

anyone else have this rumbling sound on landing around threshold height? It is really distracting, I uninstalled FS realistic and reinstalled the Fenix. I'm not 100% sure, I think it was gone for a few landings, but now it's back.

Any Ideas?

Yep, me too.

I use FSiPanel a lot to practise approaches, so can confirm that I hear it on every landing. I almost expect some audible warning to sound as some form of 'feedback' that something's wrong, but nothing.

its probably a setting in FSrealistic , its not a bad programme but some sounds and movements are way overdone for a tubeliner , turn alot of them down/off, i do like the brake noise though !

It's like the ground roll sound has come in before you hit the ground

It is the 'ground effect' noise of the air being compressed and rumbling underneath the aircraft, and some reflected sound off the runway also.

It is realistic, even if it is a bit overdone.  When sitting around the wing area (mid-plane) I have heard it in real life when the engines are throttled back and the aircraft is about to touch down. (Airbusses and Boeings).

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

it is not fsrealistic, as I don't use this program. I do use fspanel. and have the same rumbling at 50 feet.

I just tried a landing without FSiPanel. No rumble, so it seems FSiPanel is the culprit. (reported it to FSPanel folks)
