So Verticlesims scenery I am trying to install is for XP11 officially and Ive been told  it should work with XP12 so its sat there in my XP12 custom scenery folder  and no matter were I put it, top, bottom, middle the scenery isnt showing up, Ive had it below global airports, above Global airports, I have no mesh or Ortho installed at all.....all I get when i load in the sim is a big open space, ...what am I doing wrong? .....Same with KORF too....I have a bunch of Verticlesims scenery, I want to use them in XP12 if poss. 

Do you have them still installed in X Plane 11?

If so just make a shortcut in of the scenery folder and drag the scenery folder from the Custom Scenery in XP11 to the one in XP 12.

I would also suggest if you have xOrganizer for X Plane 12. It will help in arranging to order in the scenary_packs.ini and tell if there are other dependencies are needed like various library files. If you are using it you have go into xOrganizer and turn it on. 

If not and want to just move the whole folder over than that should work too.

Doing a installation maybe a little tricky. 

  

thank you for your reply Bob, appreciate it....Unfortunately I no longer have XP11 installed and I have just been on the official website to re download XP11 but there doesent seem to be a demo anymore for XP11 just a full purchase? so is there no other way in get my scenery installed then, I cnat be the only person who wants to use there XP11 scenery in XP12?

The X-Plane 11 installer is available here: Downloads for Older Versions - X-Plane.  This will work for the full install, adding or removing scenery, or the demo.

I purchased KONT and tried in XP12, but it did not work. Hopefully, it gets updated soon.

I thought Xp 12 serial number was good for xp 11 too?

That's why think it is important to have a backup strategy when ever you are upgrading from X Plane 11 to X Plane 12. You may not think that is important or the cost of getting a separate drive is in your interest. But for the aircraft and a few sceneries, you can easily add a drive large enough to backup you entire X Plane 11 folder if you choose to remove it due to space and restore it once you get more space for moment like these.  

 

well i have a second hard drive installed and its empty si if I install XP11 and all my addon scenerys, cause I have alot and then a shortcut to it from XP12 custom scenery folder that shud work shud it???

It should work. 

Keep in mind, some scenery will have library dependency that also will need  short cuts as well and the best way to sort through those dependency is the using xOrganizer. Much easier than the hardway of X Plane telling you that it can't load a scenery because of some missing flies.

Ill get to it then and install XP11 and xorganizer and one or two sceneries for starters...will report back if anyone is interested and let you know how I get on....thank you for the advice Bob
