MSFS Live Weather?

Featured Replies

Is there any info on MSFS Live Weather? It does not appear to be working. There are some queries on discord but no answers.

Seems like works fine here

Same experience here.  Could not select it for my flight today, and I was not loading a saved flight.  Flying from scratch.  Another anomoly about it is the time was all screwed up.  Changing weather presets changed the time as well, forcing me to switch it back.  I ended my flight, shut down MSFS, rebooted my system, and the issue is clearly still there,  That as of less than 10 minutes ago.  Currently 00:49Z.  I am east coast (Maryland).  Could it be a server issue?  I used REX WF instead today, buy it seems to have its own issues.  Like -90°C at FL290.

I suspect this may be related to an error that occurs during start-up that states:

WARNING

"Due to an unexpected error, your game license cannot be authenticated. To access the online services, make sure to sign in to the Microsoft Store and to Microsoft Flight Simulator with the Xbox Live account that was used to purchase Microsoft Flight Simulator."

I did this and of course, it doesn't work. I didn't know there was a REX add-on weather product for MSFS.

There is.  I used to rely on it when MSFS live was so screwed up,  but lately it seems to have its own issues.  It certainly does not tie in well to MSFS ATIS/AWOS, sometimes reporting increadible readings that are not there upon landing.  And the TAT I was seeing today was bizarre.  I was aware of it as I was flying the Hjet and getting a low fuel temp warning.  I had left Winnipeg, which was very cold.  But at FL290 the temp aloft based on lapse rate has usually adjusted due to jet stream, which is quite alive right now.  On my initial approach into Baltimore I descended through 18,000 and the TAT from REX WF, or from REX WF with MSFS influence, was still in the -80°C range.  Frustrated I switched to an MSFS preset, then back to Clear Skies, which is the setting REX chose to receive their injection.  Upon making that settings sequence the TAT changed to -29°C. Issue is it went to an astronomical level to begin with and did not adjust over time.

Again, the selection slider for MSFS Live Wx was inop for me today, even following a system reboot after then end of my flight.  I just tried again with a fresh MSFS start and still no joy! Cannot get Live Weather to stick, either with the slider or with the drop down.  That after signing out and back in to both Xbox and the MS Store.

You probably already checked but just to be sure did you go to settings, data and assure live data is on? I've had similar events and going to the is usually the culprit.

BINGO!

I should have taken closer notice on first MSFS startup after the update that I received a failure to connect dialog.  Checking your suggeston I found it was set off.  Issue resolved!  Yet another MSFS update anomoly!  At least I did not lose my controller profiles!
