Carenado adds TDS GTNxi for Seneca

Recommended Posts

It's nice that more and more developers are integrating the TDS GTN750Xi and the 650Xi

The 650 is underrated - I'd love to see it in the Carenado Archer - as the 750 is a little out of place...but still great for VR with it's large screen realestate.

Anyway there are other features from the update to the Seneca - update via your MSFS Content Manager.  I believe the GNS530/430 from WT is now natively supported.

I actually prefer a 650/750 combo to 2 750s not just because of the reduced panel space but also for the Nav data page that is unique to 650 and offers a compact view of all the data you need in one place.

I agree - I believe the PMS is the same combo in this one as well...though I didn't verify.

Love the GTNxi, but something that bothers me a bit is the that on each load of the Seneca I have to go into the tablet and activate it.

Does anybody know how to activate it permanently?

The best way is to save a flight and have a look at the resulting xxx.flt file.

Under the LocalVars heading, there will be several lines dealing with the GPS choices.

You can copy these lines into the runway.FLT and or apron.FLT files for the airplanes.. for spawning on the runway or in parking spots, respectively.

Example Carenado PC12:

[LocalVars.0]
..
CARENADO_GNS430530_HIDDEN=1
CARENADO_GTN750_HIDDEN=1
CARENADO_GTN750XI_HIDDEN=0
CARENADO_GTN750_ENABLED_BUTTON=0
CARENADO_GNS_GTN_VIS=1
GTN750_INT_HIDDEN=1
AS530_HIDDEN=1
AS430_HIDDEN=1
CARENADO_GNS_GTNXI_VIS=1
GTN750XI_INT_HIDDEN=1
XMLVAR_GPS_DISABLED_AS530_1=1
XMLVAR_GPS_DISABLED_AS430_1=1
XMLVAR_GPS_DISABLED_GTN750=1

I am loving all of my Carenado planes lately, including this Seneca.  I just bought the Archer as well and I am really enjoying it - it looks and sounds absolutely superb, and flies really nice.
I wonder if it is possible to alias these sounds to the Arrow, as it is the only Carenado aircraft I have that sounds a bit flat now.  Although there is an update scheduled for this soon as well.

Certainly there is always something that needs doing on any aircraft release from any developer, but I am grateful for the recent rounds of improvements to the full batch of Carenado aircraft, going right back to the original release, which I believe was the Mooney.
I don't see any show stoppers on any of their aircraft now.

A few weeks ago Carenado pledged to do better and update all of their aircraft and fix any issues as best they can, and continue this into the future - it seems they are sticking to their word.
Their aircraft at the price point thy sell at, continue to remain good value for people like me who don't need to pop a circuit breaker - which would be nice to have, but not critical.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Hmmm I think the exterior archer sounds are spot on - it's kinda a non-exciting sounding plane haha.  The interior are a little "tinny" but that's with the headset simulation enabled so that's fine.

I believe there is an Arrow patch coming up with goodies 🙂

Any luck with this Frank?  Sometimes I delete their aircraft and redownload them.

I have a GTN but it only works with the PMS unit and I do not have that installed so I only have a black screen.

I will try that.  Tried this and content manager says 1.5 and still only accepts PMS Unit.

Delete the plane again, and reboot your PC.

Run msfs .

Shut it down.

Reboot PC again and this time reinstall the Seneca.

No. Still v 1.50.  I deleted and reinstalled just now.  Content Manager says Up to Date.  And with v1.5 I found the TDS GTN.  All good!  I never did a Content Manager update, must have happened automatically.
