March 8, 20233 yr As the subject says, I have bought a new PC and it's the very first time I'm gonna install MSFS (Steam version) Are there any guides or tutorials I can study on how to get it as painless as possible? I have a 1TB M2 NVMe (C:) and a 2TB NVMe,(D:) and prefer to have MSFS on the 2TB drive. Since it's the Steam version I suppose I can't just install it in D:\MSFS, but must have it in a steam subdirectory? I'm sure I'll have lots of other questions, so if there's a good FAQ somewhere, it might keep me from coming back here to ask what's probabl have been asked and anwered before. March 8, 20233 yr I’m also using Steam. Definitely select a custom directory for the instal. I suggest exactly as you propose- D:\MSFS Never accept the default instal path. It is long, illogical and problematic (exceeds long windows file names in some instances). Other than that, just make sure you are connected to stable internet for the large download. March 8, 20233 yr Author "make sure you are connected to stable internet" Well, that might be a problem since I have to do it wireless as my PC will be in a different room than where my wi-fi router is. the signal is pretty good to my TV which I also will be using as a monitor for my new PC, so I hope it will be good enough for downloading the big 150+GB file. March 9, 20233 yr Author Finally got the new PC and one of the first things I will install is MSFS. But here's the first sign of trouble when it shows a pop up box from X-box saying "let's get you signed in" and then the screen goes black and I can't do anything. There's music playing in the background, but have any of you experienced that and what did you do to pass the black screen? I'm thinking of ctrl+alt+delete OR leave the pc running when I sleep, and see if something has happened tomorrow morning.
