March 13, 20233 yr I really want a glider and I was just wondering, is there any good gliders that work with P3Dv5? I searched all of the flight simulator stores I know of and I don't see any being offered for sale. Does anyone know of any good gliders I can get? I prefer a quality payware glider if there is any but I'll also try any freeware gliders too if they are decent.
March 14, 20233 yr I believe other sims offer much better gliding functionality at this point, even without needing to purchase add-ons. Don’t think I have ever seen a good glider for V5. March 14, 20233 yr There is the Aerosoft Schempp-Hirth Discus ("DISCUS K GLIDER X FSX P3D"). While officially only P3D V4 compatible, I do have it installed into V5 HF2. I still use FSX:SE for some of my older aircraft I still enjoy flying, I wouldn't mind having a glider for it as well if it's not compatable with P3Dv5. Edited March 15, 20233 yr by Kalnon
March 15, 20233 yr CumulusX and WinchX weren't expensive, and did a LOT for soaring weather experience in good old FSX 🙂 Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

I recently booted up FSX and gave that glider another try and it reminded me of how much fun it was, that's why I'm looking for more.
March 17, 20233 yr Speaking of the Discus K glider, Aerosoft has it as well as it's other aircraft on sale over at simmarket. simMarket: DISCUS K GLIDER X FSX P3D For that price I have to try it for sure. I hope it works with P3Dv5 otherwise I'll be flying it in FSX 😀
March 17, 20233 yr Being aerosoft I wouldn't buy it. 13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber - MSFS 2024
March 17, 20233 yr Works but not good for cross-country, better to get the standard Discus that CAN be used in P3Dv5 but you have to D/L a new asc.dll from Aerosoft otherwise it CTDs. Ditto for their K21, they're the two best gliders for P3Dv5, with a bit of work. ...
