Please paste the contents of your simconnect.xml.

Did you try rebooting the computer?

Wilhelm, saying it didn’t work isn’t helping much. Have you uninstalled and reinstalled ChasePlane?

You’ve posted on P3D forum and another post here at AvSim. You’ve had plenty of advice. For an unknown reason SimConnect isn’t working.

The existence of simconnect.xml in the correct folder should fix the problem.

Chaseplane has been uninstalled and reinstalled, and PC has been rebooted. 

And here is my simconnect.xml file. It's placed in \AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5

Have you changed your username from the time when everything worked okay?

I'm out of ideas. I've never known anyone to have this problem. The required entries in Programs and Features but why a simconnect.xml was never created is a mystery.

Go to Control Panel - Programs and Features. Sort Name column in ascending order.

Compare what you have to this screenshot. Report back.

 

That is very interesting. I did a comparison and mine are exactly the same name and version number but completely different sizes and dates.

The dates probably refer to installation date. Size difference is a mystery.

Same with me, my file sizes vary. I've not changed my username, never. Is there a way to do a fresh reinstall of simconnect? Or is it downloaded altogether with the sim?

It's part of the v5 installation.

Uninstall the 3 entries in Programs and Features. Reboot. Run each of the 3 MSI files with Admin privileges.

Ok, I guess the only thing left is to do a fresh reinstall and keeping my fingers crossed it works. I will let you know as sson as its done if its working or not,

Is the 'workgroup' that your machines on the same?  The default is 'WORKGROUP' but sometimes it can be different.  I usually change it.  If the workgroup is different, it could be causing an issue too.  I know I ran into that once.
