Have They Ever Fixed This?

Featured Replies

I can't use MSFS...the sim will load and the Content Manager is

active...but that's about it...whenever I load up a plane to go somewhere,

the sim freezes...my  Addon Linker is totally devoid of addons...I've

disconnected everything...still the problem persists...

Thanks, John Helms

What are your computer specs?

The Addons Linker can be "devoid of addons" but there could be still some in your Community folder. Is Community empty  ?

Is it with any plane  including a default one ?

Well my computer is 6 years old and not the fastest anymore.  But that's changing right now....new one is almost ready.

In your case I don't know if you have failing hardware or not.  If the sim is acting that strangely, I would be inclined to reinstall it, to at least rule out the sim as the problem.   I know that can take awhile, but it might be the fastest and easiest way to determine if it is NOT the sim itself.   If your new install is doing the same thing, you will know it is either the OS or your hardware or connection.

"Have they ever fixed this?"

Your title is totally misleading.

Who is they???

Fixed what???

From what you briefly describe you might wan to try a clean install.

Ok before moving to a PITA reinstall, try this as your cloud saved files could be corrupted.

 - Switch OFF all online functionality in Data if you can access the panel

- Exit the sim

- Disconnect the computer from the internet (necessary, if not this does not work)

- Launch the sim

- The sim is now totally offline

- if the sim is again functional, switch online functionality back ON

- Exit the sim

- Launch the sim. A warning message will tell you that  the Cloud and computer saves are not the same and ask to choose one. Choose to upload the computer saves.

It has worked for le in a similar case.

Queen of MSFS.  I have a question.  Would this issue come up for me, if I upgrade to a new computer?

I assume my new MSFS install will automatically read the cloud-stored data and carry on with its business...

Not the slightest idea as I don't know what kinds of data are saved. I found the trick by  trials and errors, when I had a similar problem.  Then I heard somebody tells me inside my head 'Elementary, my dear Watson'.
