In a relative comparison, the Asobo/HH ATR probably does slow down quicker than other airliners in MSFS and perhaps the 747 comment is a slight exaggeration. However, in real life (if EnSnellHest is a genuine ATR pilot), he/she may be used to being able to change the condition levers to 100% OVRD to get the effect of 'throwing the anchors out' and seeing the associated large reduction in airspeed. I would be delighted to hear how to decelerate ATR IRL vs sim. Since there is no direct prop control I use flight idle which is probably not the right way . ATR deceleration remind me of PMDG DC-6 you have to plan ahead to level off early to bleed off speed. But in case DC-6 you are trying avoid shock cooling which I believe not a case with ATR Life time flight sim enthusiast, current airplane owner 172P (past C182F). June 3, 20233 yr Haha I love that people got hung up on the 747-part. OF COURSE it was an exaggeration.

I thought so, but I don't find it very helpful, especially in the internet. It doesn't bring your point across any better, actually worse. That said, care to elaborate how much fast it should decelerate? I feel like with flaps out and gear down I can go from 240 to 130 kts in like one minute (I didn't stop the time, but it felt really fast, like I was using a giant speed brake). For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
