June 11, 20232 yr Hello All... I'm running P3dv5.4 which I did as a complete re-do after uninstalling v5.3 I think I made a big mistake !!! I had UTX running perfectly as an Add-on .xml....but trying to install it to 5.4 has left me with nothing but misery. I 'think' I got all of UTX uninstalled properly before trying to add it to 5.4. I also depend on Lorby P4AO to add airports (with success) to the Add-on .xml but no luck with UTX !!! Anyone have UTX up and running on 5.4 ??? Sure could use some help Thanks Skip d
June 11, 20232 yr Moderator @skip d, I stopped using UTX products when v5 came out. Unless I’ve missed something obvious it is no longer needed. Terrain, roads, rivers, lakes and coastlines for the whole world have been updated making UTX redundant. And of course its airports are well out of date. Ray (Cheshire, England). June 12, 20232 yr If you are unable to get UTX working there are other options, ORBX global will give you an upgrade from UTX and also if interested, a ton of upgraded airports are available. Global shouldn't change the performance much but you will see a FPS hit with additional airports. But with a modern day computer you will be fine. June 13, 20232 yr Author Thanks Ray and Ken... I'm your advice and 'cutting the cord'.... Jeez... i had UTX thru FSX back in '06 or so...kinda feel 'naked' without it....BUT.. it just seems like a load of un-needed HDD space...so...into the DUMP. I've got GLOBAL and OPEN LC NA along with Buildings;TerraFlora;Airports Will that work well with my I9-10900 and GTX 1080 Ti ???? Thanks guys !!! Skip

I have FTX Global as I prefer its colouring compared to the default. I don’t have OpenLC so I’ll leave that to others. You could try disabling that layer and see how you feel. My 1080Ti copes fine. That type of scenery doesn’t impact on fps much. I compared scenery with and without UTX when v5 came out and the default had more up to date detail. UTX was great up to v4 but is now redundant. More info on UTX here and given it was designed for FSX tells you how old it is. https://www.flight1.com/products.asp?vid=flt1sf&pid=utx2europe Ray (Cheshire, England). Yes, but according to the product page it also incorporates landclass data, which isn't the case with Vector, I believe.
