Asobo hiring for MSFS

Recommended Posts

https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/asobo-studio-jobs-worldwide?

Some of the jobs have interesting missions, like the ATC & Flight planning programmer:

Quote

Your missions

The Evolution of the Air Traffic AI System
The evolution of the navigation system
The evolution of the Nav Data system, Flight planning
Create new, yet undisclosed content

Or the Autopilot programmer:

Quote

Your missions

You will improve the Autopilot system currently present in the game
You will improve the PID control system currently present in the game
You will adjust and optimize the behavior of existing and future aircraft

Interesting stuff, I wonder if this is also for MSFS 2024.

These job specs are far too niche/specialised for them to be filled.
Far better, IMO, to hire someone with a solid coding background and bring in an aviation consultant (pilot / ATC / aircraft engineer, etc. as appropriate) to guide the project of fixing the systems Asobo has identified.

MSFS is not a military sim, as someone already told you in the other thread, try DCS, or even P3D.

...are you deciding for MS/Asobo whuch direction they take ?   If I look in my 2020 hangar there are already military aircraft ,  default from MS/Asobo so what are you talking about.  I don't fancy being directed by you to other sims, thank you. I will continue for the improvement of MSFS2020/24...

PS

MSFS2020 is not a :-

Glider sim

Helicopter sim

Bush plane sim

Airliner sim

Drone sim

Space ship sim

etc.....

IT IS ALL OF THEM !

. I am making valid points for improvement...  why is that being a troll ?

If you don't want replies to your post why not tell us....

I ' DO ' realise that MSFS2020 is not a dedicated Military Sim...  I mostly fly airliners at the moment with the Fenix A320, PMDG 737, CRJ 700 and ATR72 being the most often used ones...

Thanks...  wondering what exactly is the point of a forum set up to discus Flight sim subjects.... I guess I have to keep quiet as you say and just read others posts....

I think ASOBO / MS also have to aim at bringing the higher possible number of users from all platforms to MFS, not necessarily exclusively but if that turns out to be the majority then even better for them.

Their investment in the platform is HUGE to say the least. They have to make profit and that's why they've been trying to do their best to please users on different parts of the spectrum, but I do not see military, in the sense of Air Combat, being on their focus for now, although I wouldn't be surprised, now that 2024 is going to be sold as a separate simulator, to see something like Combat Flight Simulator 202? announced one day...

I know that the flight dynamics and ground physics, among other factors that I used to give priority in my choice of a sim aren't, at least for the time being, their strongest point (although I do believe this can well change in the future with new members in their development team, some of them credited enough to help making these areas of the simulation less limited , same applying probably to weather, AI Traffic and ATC).

I know that Weather, ATC and AI Traffic still have, each, their own limitations, but, I do believe even more than relative to aerodynamics, these areas  will continue to be fine tuned and receive additional features that will turn the simulation even more tempting than it already is even with it's present limitations...

I know that MFS is the cheapest platform I ever used in terms of functionality, default aircraft, ATC, AI Traffic and even, in some aspects weather (although I do believe they should give dedicated 3pds the ability to make it even better / more customized).

I know that for a simulation of airline operations with an A320, A310, B787, B748, B737, and a few more, MFS can already be the sim of choice for many ( and it slowly but definitely turned out to be so for me ).

So, being absolutely honest, I am satisfied with the track being followed by ASOBO / MS in various aspects, not all, but most of it giving me more than enough joy everytime  I load the game (sorry, they're all games...) to pretend I'm an airline pilot. That's all I could ask...

And watching the FS2024 announcement even makes me happier because some of my dreams of what a general purpose flightsim should offer appear to have materialized in the upcoming tittle, with areas of flight operations that for quite a long time I was willing to see supported in a Civil Flight Simulator.

It's a great future that I see ahead with MFS.
