June 25, 20232 yr Hello Gang! I have done several test flights on the 787 since AAU2's release and even though it is an exponentially better aircraft than before, I have noticed that it doesn't like to maintain heading; you have to fiddle with it quite a bit to get it to follow the dialed in heading. I have also noticed that it tends to miss the ILS localizer capture, forcing me to make a series of turns to re-align and it tends to catch the signal on the second try. Any ideas if there is a legit issue here or if it might be user error? Thanks Sincerely, Dennis D. Müllert System Specs: MoBo: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi ATX AM5. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. June 26, 20232 yr Hmm I haven't seen this issue. Do you have a flight plan where it happens? I can try and replicate. Also - you have removed all mods that might impact the plane, yes? Including stuff like lighting mods and so on. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
June 26, 20232 yr Yep - similar to Jonathan's post. I've been using it since the update and works well. No issues as the OP has described. One thing I have noticed is that pilots who have had issues, had the old mods still installed. I'd recommend removing all those mods. Hopefully it works out ok mate. Jase Jaseman. Jase Thanks for the responses guys. No old mods installed except for the FTSim sound pack. Will take that out and try it without the sound pack and see how it goes. Thanks Sincerely, Dennis D. June 26, 20232 yr I had no issues either - maybe you clicked on HDG HOLD Button instead of the SEL center of the selected HDG knob or clicked on HDG/Track Mode swap which can cause some confusion. Both the 787 and the 747 are very well developed now - real pleasure to fly.
