Loading Fenix with fuel frame drop

Featured Replies

Anyone notice a massive frame drop when aircraft load button is selected to load fuel and passengers on the Fenix? I have my frames locked at 30 which the frames can go much higher around 45 went unlocked. It's been sitting idle for quite some time and the minute I hit the load button to load fuel and passengers the frames tanked to around 24.  How do you use GSX however I've never seen those before

I use the EFB fuel and passenger load on every flight, ( many hundreds of them). I have never seen FPS affected by that, or heard of anyone else having that problem. .

If your doing it the way it was intended Simbrief import .. accepting the load sheet on the mcdu and hitting the start boarding button on the EFB then i dont see how that induces a frame rate drop ... unless of course your using some other addon in conjunction with the fenix  ( see you mentioned GSX) and that would be your issue to take up with the dev of whatever addon that is..

I personally like to keep it simple and have as few addons as possible for these very reasons.

Well I turned off GSX and the frames and eventually climb back up to lock 30. Now I don't know if it's AI traffic causing these massive frame drops. I was at Phoenix and everything was running 30 locked perfectly fine. With FSLTL injector injecting just static aircraft at a level 2 at the airport which was roughly 15 airplanes. I also use Vasim and it was on and there was one other aircraft at the airport and no other aircraft in the area around Phoenix. Panning around their craft from inside was fine for the first 5 minutes. Then later watching the passenger view on the side the frames dropped to 20. I looked around to see if any other vatsimbaircraft has arrived and all was the same. Turned off the injector which removed the static aircraft, and back to a nice solid 30. So I guess I'm confused as of why My PC will drop frames quite significantly with nothing going on extra in the sin from what I'm aware of. Now if the injector in the background is just taking up resources even those is throwing static aircraft and locating myself in the background at Phoenix is causing the issue then I don't know. Now here's another one. There are times where the injector was not even used. Vasim was used with very very little aircraft in the area again one or two planes at the airport and nothing flying around the area. I would get that meter frame drop and out of shutdown Vatsim and my friends will go back to 30 locked. Now I can unlock my frames at Phoenix for example and I would get 40 45, maybe in 50 so I know my PC can handle it. Any thoughts on this matter? Cuz this is really starting to bug me. I use AIG for model matching with The British Avgeek  AIG model matching file found at flightsim.io. I have also downloaded the entire AIG traffic since it is required for this file. I have also tried using FSLTL model matching file also, I get the same results.

How are you and the Fenix getting along these days?

Okay an observation I noticed. On my second monitor I have vpilot, navigraph charts, pacx open on the screen during my flights. I was again 30 frames locked at Phoenix with one other aircraft at the airport. When when I push back from the gate B18 and went to the wing view to look to the left I got frames that went down to 19 then went back to the flight deck view and had frames to 15. When external frames didn't get many better around 15 also. So now I decided to close My second monitor navigraph charts, and even close pacX. My frames took off the solid 30. I unlocked my frames and I was getting 45 to 48 frames. Smooth as butter, So I need to decide if these applications are running on a separate nvme ssd drive insead of my F drive which my flight sim is on which is a nvme ssd. Or since the monitors My second monitor is not the same brand and and my main monitor if that is possibly the issue?

Why not turn the other apps back on one at a time and report back in the interest of science?

For what it's worth, I run Navigraph on an iPad, as well as Simbrief. I try not to have a browser window open on my second monitor. I have a separate SSD drive for MSFS Official and Community folders, but run other applications off of the C drive. Do you have any reason to believe that performance is being limited by disk access to your SSD?

So far when I do not use Pac-X performances so much better. Im using the Navigraph desktop app dont know if its like a browser, but looks like an app. I have my sceneries, paints, and planes running on my non NVMe SDD ( d drive) via MS AddonLinker. My flight sim is dedicated to my F drive which is a NVMe SSD drive. Windows in on my C also on a NVMe SSD drive.

Ok, so I did not have PACX running nor FSLTL injector for static planes nor Vpilot running...Here is a video showing what is happening. You can see the massive frame drop and my frames are locked at 30 but can reach high 40s when unlocked

Here is the video showing the issue
