July 15, 20232 yr I'm hoping someone here can offer an idea as to what has happened to my Philips 4K monitor. I guess it's about 6 years old, and so far I've been very happy. However, a couple of weeks ago I noticed this light area appear on the screen. It is not always evident, as it depends on what is on screen eg, in the cockpit against the instruments it's not always to be seen, but at night, or when there is a clear blue sky, it becomes very obvious. Can anyopne offer any advice? Thnaks guys. I hope you got your moneys worth out of it Howard. My Samsung went south just after the end of the warranty period. Have changed to LG now, and very pleased with it. We have an LG in the main bedroom ( 47" LCD ) which is 12 years old and still going strong. I will never have Samsung again or Phillips. Good luck in your search for a replacement. It got progressively worse a few weeks later. Then stopped getting worse but was still terrible. One thing I read online suggested the glue on the bulbs inside could come loose causing them to orient in ways they shouldn't. While it's fixable. The cost to fix would exceed a new screen. So a constructive total loss as they say 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
