SpaceX water deluge system first test.

Well here it is space cadets, SpaceX testing the steel plate, upside down shower head, fondag protecting, water deluge system.

I approve the system. Now please get the thing stacked and launched ASAP. Me want another BIG rocket day!! :biggrin:

It was less than I expected too, Mathew, but of course, we don't know if this was a full test or a lower volume test. 

There will be Raptor tests of course, to test the system with all the fiery stuff.

The hot staging technique sounds like a good improvement. I never liked the idea of having to do a "flip" to get the second stage engines to ignite. It sounded like a very inelegant solution to me.

My comment was tongue and cheek but yea I bet they are just testing with a fraction of the full deluge, the next Launch Test will be the real test

The full test will be 350,000 gallons and immense pressure.

Even this first test generated a lot of noise apparently.

Booster 9 is on its way to the launch site for static testing, my chief space cadet. 👍

Looks like it was indeed tested at half capacity. The full test should be impressive!

Have to say, amazing progress from SpaceX in only 3 months.
