There are reported a few bugs with this latest update, one being the course knob doesn´t work!

Just tried it and yes, there is a problem with course knob in VC. However with external hardware (Bravo throttle quadrand or logitech multi panel) it works.

In addition, the heading knob in the VC does not turn (it just rocks and it allows to set the desired heading)

So for those of you who were bitten by the Update and your course knob, here is a workaround as posted on the MSFS Forum. Tested and works for me. 
 

Concerning the course knob issue, if you use default bindings, use shift+v to select captain side course knob, then use CTRL+plus and CTRL+minus to control it”

Anyone who downloaded the 1.0.24 version (including PC players) should re-install the correct version of the ATR. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Official:

An ATR update was prematurely released causing issuing on Xbox. This has been rectified and the correct version 1.0.20 is available. Any user that downloaded 1.0.24 should go to the Content Manager and re-install the ATR. We apologize for the inconvenience

Got the first wrong update. Tried the ATR 4 times at KBOS and was never able to take off. Flaps set, power full and could not lift from the runway. Applying trim did not help either. Gave in after those 4 trials. Will download the update and try again later this week
