July 23, 20232 yr Hello, Building new sim PC. Starting from scratch, since old hardware is pretty old at this point. Just wanted to get a 2nd opinion on the planned parts. Current gen NVIDIA GPU prices are just insane here in India, so I can either get a new 7900xtx or a open box 3090 in my budget. Another thing I wanted to confirm is does RAM speed really matter for MSFS ? 6000MHz kits are fairly reasonably priced, beyond that prices increase exponentially. Will this build be good for VR as wel? I don't have a VR headset yet, but definitely want to get one if it can run on this hardware. CPU - AMD Ryzen 7800x3d GPU - AMD 7900 XTX / RTX 3090 MoBo - Gigabyte Aorus ULTRA 670E RAM - 32 GB G.Skill CL36 DDR 5 kit. SSD - 2 x 2TB Crucial P5 SSD, 2 x 4TB crucial mx 500 SSD. Cooler - Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Case - Lian Li O11 Mesh / Lian Li Lancool II mesh Cheers P.S Building a new PC after almost 5years, so please feel free to mention anything I may have missed.

July 28, 20232 yr Choose the gpu that has most Vram, you will thank me later, I did the misstake to buy a Nvidia 4070Ti with only 12 gb Vram, that is not enough in DX-12 at high detail add-on airports, and it will be a bottleneck in most games in the future. I was looking at the Cooler Master and Corsair 850W ones, but pretty much all reviews said that they were fairly louder at even medium loads. VR isn't the primary aim of this build. Just getting a steady and smooth frame rate with good aircraft and add-ons. I'm leaning towards the AMD option as the 3090 has DLSS 2 which isn't as good as DLSS 3, which is what the current gen supports. That was my line of thought as well. Which is why I was looking at either the 3090 or the 7900xtx, both with 24GB of VRAM. If Meteor Lake was coming out, then it'd probably make sense to build an Intel config, but the current LGA 1700 socket will be obsolete next year when they release Meteor Lake next year. AMD will have at least one, hopefully two or more generations of upgrades available for the same socket.
July 30, 20232 yr You're building that massive thing? Get a rtx 4090 for sure. Unless you dislike team green haha. Oh and then I'd go for a 1000w psu if you do that.
