No ATC Voices

There's a report on the official forums that a high amount of injected AI traffic from services like FSLTL may impact ATC audio communications in-game. Haven't heard of it happening from the outset, but it's happened to me and others in busy airspace partway through flights. Believe that it is still being investigated with an initial thought that comms are being stepped on and then hanging the entire Azure system.

Thanks for the info but I don't have any AI traffic of any kind running. I am just trying to learn to fly sim helicopters (not real ones :-).

Even completely uninstalled the sim and then reinstalled it from scratch but still no ATC.

I have started using Pilot2ATC again (see my avatar!), after an hiatus. It took me an age to work out how to turn FS2020 ATC voices off! That's why I suggested what I suggested. Good luck.

This has happened to me, where I start out with ATC being audible, and then suddenly at some point in the flight I can only hear my pilot avatar's voice but not ATC or other aircraft.  I tried everything thing I could think of, including switching to offline voices instead of Azure, switching ATC on and off, disabling other audio devices, etc.  The ONLY thing that works if you are in the middle of a flight is, in the ATC window, switching to COMM2.  Anything else requires a restart and doesn't prevent it from happening again.

it is a reported bug that is supposedly being investigated, but try the workaround of switching to COMM2 (have to do it in the ATC window).

My problem is a little different. Mine doesn't cut out during a flight. Mine doesn't work at all while I am still on the ground and just spawned into the cockpit. I noticed just this evening that when I click fly from the world map and get to that first screen with another FLY button, if I just sit on that screen and don't click FLY I can hear all ATC traffic both ways. But the moment I click FLY and spawn to a cockpit, no more ATC. And I have tried with several fixed wing planes and helicopters as well. Same scenario for all. Very frustrating after building a powerful gaming machine and installing everything new with latest versions of everything. Ok, not the end of the world, but I am just a casual user of this and the built-in stuff for me is usually sufficient. I would, of course, like it to work.

General options > sound > ATC Text-to-speech  settings : offline

Rob,

The few times I have had this was related to the in-sim hardware assignments for the output for the audio.  The Sound Blaster external audio device though working fine and playing all the environmental / mechanical audio in the sim wouldn't play the voices.

By switching to a generic audio output (sorry not in front of my sim machine) made it work.  Had a similar thing when switched to using VR in the sim, but through the same menu got it sorted out.   Your clue about all the other sounds working is what made me think of  those past issues.  If the Azure voices go away online, I always still have ATC voices, just different ones.
