August 2, 20232 yr I assume what ever clocks the highest may be the best answer but I know little about those AMD 3D processors. So yeah, title answer is....?
August 2, 20232 yr Not many FSX users around these days. If I had to guess, just based on best single core performance: 13900ks. Hopefully an expert may weigh in with the real answer. August 3, 20232 yr I'm not an expert, but I have run FSX on a few CPU's. In my experience, FSX with SP1 or any later version needs more than one CPU core. I have run FSX on Intel dual, quad, and now an 8 core CPU. Hyperthreading is a waste on FSX and can actually reduce performance. FSX needs at least 4 CPU cores, probably no more than 8 cores, and it needs for those cores to be capable of running at high frequencies, 3.5 GHz or better. 4.0 GHz or more and FSX becomes a smooth running sim. You do not want a CPU that runs just one or two cores at high speed, but all of the cores running at high speed. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
August 7, 20232 yr If you're considering the expense for a new build for FSX, it's worth the experience to give MSFS a try first. Though maybe you've already have, but if you have not, you can get 1 month access to run MSFS using MS Gamepass for only $1. That was my introduction to it, and since then my $$$$ FSX install has been completely discarded. But if you're beyond that, the fastest Intel CPU + fastest/low latency RAM + rtx 4090 will undoubtedly "best" run FSX at this time.
