Sim Update 13 Beta Release Notes [1.34.14.0] - September 5,

Recommended Posts

Just did a flight in the ATR using DX12, smooth as can be, not a single stutter. 12700K/3080ti/32GB.

If someone could confirm a slight performance optimisation in this beta I would be grateful.

I can confirm as many others... not a single stutter on my system with DX12. Tested with a couple of 1 h flights.

I tried DX11 too, but it still has hiccups.

If you could let us know which add-on that is, please, it would be *incredibly useful* for everyone to know.

There have been a lot of complaints on performance degradation after 1 or 2 hours of flying. If a commonly used add-on is a culprit, it would be invaluable to know which one.

It was FsFlying School. It was on big sale. I purchased, but never used it, forgot about it. I did notice that fsuipc window popped up with MSFS booted, but paid no attention to it.

Anyway, FSFlying School. Which is not something most of you all have.

The top bar in Dev Mode FPS screen showed a parade of red spikes one second apart continuous. These spikes would begin after MSFS was running an hour and a half or so.

I guess you just needed to update FSUIPC. That addon probably installed an old version that was known to cause that problem. I use FSUIPC and have no issues.

Thanks, I will give the new version a test. But the problem takes maybe a couple hours to show up, so a test has to be a long one.

fsflyinschool installed fsuipc 7.3.7 on May 21st. Although annoying, I seldom fly over 90 minutes anyway, so was not a huge issue.

So, I'm now installing 7.3.22 fsuipc and probably will hopefully cure the whole issue!

Strange!  I have had that before, but not this time.  It seems to happen totally randomly.

Yes, mine also.  Best performance I have had for a while.  Using the latest Nvidia drivers, 4k ultra, DX11, DLSS Quality setting.  Loving it!

This seems to be the general consensus on the official MSFS forum as well.

I am also having very reasonable load times.  Lots of nice fixes coming in this update - especially for some of the default aircraft.

I hope the non-beta users will be happy with it when the formal update is launched.  Not long now!

The loading times from the main menu to "ready to fly" have improved dramatically. I picked one of my normal locations and know the typical load time. It was so quick I had to doublecheck Addon Linker that I had everything enabled still the first time

DLSS Quality setting

Are you getting the fuzzy electronic flight displays? I can’t use DLSS for that reason.

Only slightly fuzzy panels - as is known when using DLSS.  I use DLSS Quality with a bit of extra sharpening in the sim to get around it.  Easily usable at 4k.

Make sure you have Anisotropic filtering off in Nvidia control panel, but set at maximum in the sim (16), as that made it better for someone else.

If it's still no good, it is probably time to go back to TAA unfortunately.

Thanks for that, I’ll give that a try!
