IXEG 737

Hello

I just bought it because it seemed to me to be a good aircraft but I notice small irritating bugs in the flight plans at the level of the FMS with shortcomings especially for the STAR it does not offer the VIA for example although my AIRACS are up to date. anyway I keep checking under XP12.

I got to tell you about the most scary flight I've even been through when revisiting this thread upon reading @mjrhealth recent post. I was on a flight to ESNS a number of years ago (pre 2014 as

I completely agree with you and the worst thing is that it is completely abandoned (abandonware).

Please ignore anyone suggesting it's abandonware.

Your best option is to visit the support forums.

No its not. Really you have no idea. That plane had beinb around for ages. Look at all the free upgrades you get. The team wad going to drop it brecause of the amount of work needed to bring it up to xp12 standards. But they gracefully handed it over. Its pretty much a one man team now. Cutrently auprading to fmod sound due to issues users had. Also getting complete fms rewrite to use xp12 navdata. You miserable lot should be gratefule.

Oh yes I have, I was actively involved in 3 major flightsim companies back in the 90s until 2008 and I know what it means to put in the effort to deliver a GOOD product to the customer.

"Free upgrades"??

First of all I paid for my XP-12 version, free upgrades were by the companies that did NOT charge for the XP-12 version, not that I don't think it's fair to pay, but don't come to me with "free upgrades"

There is no communication, they do not accept suggestions, updates are much slower than other developers, see the dates on the support forum itself,  almost 2 years without an update.

As the OP said, full of bugs and very little desire to fix them at the speed that other developers do and with even cheaper software.

Slower != abandoned. Surely your majesty's vast experience from the 90s until 2008 understands that vocabulary difference.

There were similar gaps in the xp11 run.

Actually they did. Wrote all about it on there forum about the decisions and why. I dont blame them for not saying anything when there is nothing to say. You say you know, well you understand how people complain just like you because they can. But you promised us a date, you said you would do this, why you charging  now, you said you wouldnt. And people wonder why developers quit.

Good developers don't give up and this doesn't only apply to flightsims business.

And again, almost 2 years WITHOUT an update, and if anyone has any doubts, visit the suggested support forum and confirm for yourself the "support".

Well i guess you just dont want to know sbd feel entitled to complain. i would have thought from your other post that you would know better.

The hot air continues. They do when the cash flow changes. Get over it.

It currently does not use xp12 navdata. Thats in the works. Complete fms overhaul dont expect it in a hurry, thats a lot of work. To add you should if you have navdata subscription be able to get the navdata for this plane. Did with the aerosoft data while it was availiable

With that statement, it sounds as though you're trying to justify your comments.  I know several developers who threw their hands in the air and left, purely because of comments like yours.  Many people who were just starting, have said things like "I don't need this!" because of entitled people who felt the need to bash a developer or their product.

Saso and I have been working on an update for the TBM for over 2 years.  We certainly haven't abandoned it.  Perhaps life takes precedence, sometimes.  Perhaps there are other updates to other add ons.  Tom Kyler (who I consider a very good friend) upgraded his MU2 for XP12, so it stands to reason the 737 would take a back seat for a period of time.

Slinging derogatory comments and untruths like "It's abandonware", as if you're announcing a fact, does nothing to help productivity.  If you have an issue, post about it in the forums.

You claimed to be in the field of development.  I'm very surprised you would take this attitude, knowing what goes into add ons.  The developers I know of, who have been around a while, put in far more work hours on their product than an average CEO of a Forbes 500 company.  80 hours per week is not uncommon for me.

You know where the forums are.  If Tom doesn't reply, Jan or Cameron will.

If they threw their hands in the air and left because of comments, proves exactly what I said before, good and serious developers don't give up. The problem is that nowadays people want easy things, so they give up easily, even because of comments which serve to compare themselves to the good ones, encourage them to improve and not to give up.

Oh yes, I certainly know, I also know that they don't do any of the things you pointed out, but they will reply. And again, two years without an update for a product with the idiosyncrasies of XP-12 that other developers constantly update (sometimes with a very small team).

But this is just my opinion, if you think everything is fine, no problem, life goes on. Take care.

You sure did. Way back in 2008.

Like I said. Got a problem?  Post in the forums.
