IXEG 737

Featured Replies

The flight dynamic is weird with ground effect: it rotate on T/O very light, almost feel like I got a tail strike, but on landing it's very heavy, I can't get a proper flare and landed quite heavy and short.

But once in the air, the flight dynamic seems almost spot on the realworld data sheet.

I got to tell you about the most scary flight I've even been through when revisiting this thread upon reading @mjrhealth recent post. I was on a flight to ESNS a number of years ago (pre 2014 as

You look at his review and then look at blackbox77 and you can see the difference in how he cover it

TBH, what I want from these videos is much more content more like:

And much less "I flew in it for 3 hours and this this and this happened".

I said the same for the CL650, which I only very recently "got the point" with 737NG Drivers colab with Totoro. While they were actually longer videos, there was at least some structure to them.

But that isn't Q8 pilot, what you get is always more "flight simmer that shares his experience with X-Plane in real time". I'll take that over swiss001 reviews any day of the week (who actually did one of the best CL650 overviews prior to 737NG Driver 🤯), but none of them are effectively communicating what is special, good and bad about the aircraft.

You'd think with all the people on the "YT career path", someone (other than aviationlads) would have got the formula right by now.

e.g. I really, really liked the composition AlphaSimmer did for the initial 744 release

pretty much everything has changed/improved since that video, but it still goes into more detail in two and a half minutes than Q8, flightdeck2sim or blackbox77 did for the IXEG in 2 and a half hours apiece, I like watching YT videos, but no idea what I've missed in the new IXEG release, because there isn't a chance anyone is watching 7.5hours of content that is mostly watching paint dry.

This plane has always being one of the best for years, kinda has a cult following. If they had left the release longer there would of being many complaints. People really dont get the development requirements. Basically what they did was a flight model and some graphics updates lighting etc to get it 12 compliant, im sure that was a headache in itself. They do mention something about ground affect causing some minor headaches on landing, The sound are getting updated to fmod and the FMS to xp11 data format make life easier for everyone. FMS wont happen over night. They already have a list of bugs to fix. mostly minor.

Another one I enjoy

My verdict after watching the video: The IXEG has fallen behind the curve and outside of nostalgia, I fail to see why it deserves its reputation. If one has been caught in the mill since its XP10(?) days then yes, $15 for an upgrade is maybe not a big deal. But full price? Nuh-uh, never. Differences between Classic and NG aside, Zibo's 738 is superior in every regard at much less cost.

And things like the instantaneous startup spool rate and lawnmower startup sounds should not be in a payware product, at least without being an item on the "known issues, will be fixed in next update" list upon release.

I purchased the XP11 version of the 737 in 2020, but I can't figure out how to get my discount for the XP12 one. Can anyone enlighten me on this? I see no mention of it on the buy page, and it doesn't automatically apply the discount when you go to buy it...

Discount code arrives in a message to the email account linked to your X-aviation account.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

If you have previously unsubscribed from the X-Aviation newsletter, you may have problems receiving your code.
This is confirmed by many people on the IXEG forum: https://forums.x-pilot.com/forums/forum/169-ixeg/
I also had this problem - the only effective method at that time was to write an e-mail to X-Aviation support.
I quickly received a reply with a discount code.

Thank you, bling! I completely missed that email, and I saw no reference to it anywhere.

Purchased!

This issue has been acknowledged by Austin, and it is, in fact, a bug originating from X-Plane 12. The resolution for this will come with a subsequent X-Plane 12 update.

There's a fix out this morning for the Level 2 authentication issue that's been plaguing some people.

It doesn't change anything else so if you aren't seeing the problem you can skip it but hopefully it'll make the plane flyable if you have been seeing this problem.

Is there a place where I can see a modern 2023 resolution screenshot of this new version, cockpit etc?  4K preferably?  or even 1440p?

The 1000x600 or whatever on the site is kinda silly.

Link me to the screenshots on the product page you'd like to see bigger and I'll happily post them for you.

Sure thanks.  Mostly the cockpit pics and perhaps any of the ones showing the external view.

There's a lot on there, so right click them, copy the URL and paste them here. I'll show you exact ones you select. 🙂
