September 16, 20232 yr I had this. Next time, open the Xbox app and you may see the MSFS update is paused for some reason. Un-pause it and let it finish downloading the update. Anyway, I frequently check the Store for updates of those critical apps (like Xbox, Game Services) before starting MSFS and do the updates manually when it's needed. I prefer not to rely on those automatic updates, which not always happen (for me).
