Can't launch MSFS

Featured Replies

I do ;ile I do frequently, click the icon to launch MSFS.

... and this morning it loads the Microsoft Store window with Gaming Services open and no apparent rhyme or reason or clue or hint of why and what next.

Update

A good old reboot sorted it out. 😝

I had this.  Next time, open the Xbox app and you may see the MSFS update is paused for some reason.  Un-pause it and let it finish downloading the update.  You should be able to launch it afterwards.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

I’ve looked, but cannot see an update anywhere. Oh well, it launched, I flew, I’m happy.

Normally, it updates it automatically from the MS Store.

Anyway, I frequently check the Store for updates of those critical apps (like Xbox, Game Services) before starting MSFS and do the updates manually when it's needed. I prefer not to rely on those automatic updates, which not always happen (for me).

Step one for me, whenever I have any problem with sim, aircraft, or anything else......Restart PC.
