Well believe it or not it was meant to be a sincere, flattering compliment , perhaps I shouldn’t post things just after landing off a long haul , I’ll try and think of a better analogy once I’ve had a good night sleep😀 What I was trying to portray is that because you have the things that we pilots focus on the most when flying, the instrumentation, so spot on, it to some degree doesn’t matter what else is or isn’t going off elsewhere. And sorry to keep making the comparison to the P3D QW but that seems to be the most asked question here, although it perhaps had greater systems depth it wasn’t as an authentic feeling of the real aircraft because the PFD and HUD , again the things we look at most , just didn’t feel right. There is no doubt however that you should be incredibly proud of what you have achieved with the 787 updates. As I’ve said previously I feel that yours is the best 787 currently available on any sim platform , simply because the foundations , those instruments and HUD , are just so strong and accurate. I’m not sure exactly what your remit was with updating these Boeings, exactly how far into systems depth you were allowed to go given budget and time restraints, and bearing in mind they are still default aircraft presumably targeted at a broader audience? And, likewise I’m not sure if they are still ongoing projects with further updates planned ? With that in mind instead of posting about things that maybe not quite right I have tried to focus my posts more on the things that are already spot on. One of the things that I did mention here though was the flight guidance cue being removed from the HUD when the flight directors are switched off, and I was delighted and grateful to see that this had been addressed in the latest update. This was a big ticket item for me personally as I use the HUD in VR to practice “ raw data” ILS and the errant guidance cue was a big distraction. As I’ve said on these forums before ,the foundation of this aircraft are now so good it has the potential to become one of the best, most accurate airliner simulations made , and that’s just unheard of for a default aircraft. If there is a plan to further develop this aircraft then I would be delighted to share with you the things that jump out at me the most , about operating the aircraft in comparison to the real machine, things that would be the real icing on the cake if amended to more accurately reflect the real aircraft’s operation. Likewise I would be more than happy to offer any further technical or testing assistance I can with your 787 project if it is indeed subject to further development, and also your 747-8 project. I haven’t flown the -8 but have considerable experience with the 747 -400 and in the testing and technical advice for its simulator counterparts, a brief CV being in my signature below 👇 787 captain. Thanks as always for the feedback, that's some high praise indeed and all kudos to WT. A fair amount of the default fleet in MSFS is unprecedented in its fidelity (in terms of avionics/systems/FM/etc) and hopefully continues on this track of getting even more deeply simulated in future SUs and MSFS 2024!
