My Upsoming Around-the-World Flight...

Featured Replies

For the past few weeks I've been planning my meandering flight around the world that circumnavigates some continents.  I didn't want to miss anything.  I mentioned before I will start on New Years Day, January 1st.

It took a bit of doing to include favorite places I've been and places I heard about that piqued my interest.  There a couple of times I got tired and thought about giving it all up but after a day or so of rest I plodded on.

The flight in my Quest Kodiak will take 251 flying days.  Of course it will take longer than that because I doubt I will want to fly every day and there are chores like medical appointments and grocery shopping and getting tired of the project and just resting to renew myself.

I will cover 98,932 miles all told.  The flights will be anywhere from a couple of hundred miles to five hundred or six hundred miles.  My longest flight will be 890 miles across the Tasman Sea from Hobart Australia (Tasmania) to Milford Sound New Zealand.

To many people this will look like a waste of time.  But like the signs I printed out and taped under my television set and my computer monitor I remind myself, "What The Hell Else Have I Got To Do?"

"And if I die before I wake

I hope my computer

He'll let me take"

Noel

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

You are one heck of an inspiration Noel,

Thank You!

To many people, flight simming (or any other hobby) will look like a waste of time. But not us 😎 Enjoy your tour!
