December 15, 20232 yr Is there a way to change the external viewpoint from wide angle to normal? Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
December 15, 20232 yr In drone mode. Move the camera away from the subject and then zoom in. Just like we do in photography. 🙂 Edited December 15, 20232 yr by bvdboomen
December 15, 20232 yr Author Has anyone ever mentioned this to Asobo? Wide angle view in external mode is absolutely not the way to do it. December 15, 20232 yr Good luck with getting any changes to the camera system! Has it had a single change or improvement since August 2020. I don't think it has. December 16, 20232 yr My best guess is, the wide angle effect is to avoid the look of lower resolution ground textures. Those textures get more blurry when zooming in. It is also always been like that in FSX/P3D.
December 16, 20232 yr Author The external view in P3D does not look the same as in MSFS. It looks relatively normal. Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
December 16, 20232 yr There is no way to change the default exterior video. I use drone views often for screenshots because of how wide angled the default is. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
