I think we stopped watching after 30 minutes or so. I can't describe it, but I found it not very engaging.

A fair assessment.

It was originally supposed to be a Star Wars movie but Disney rejected it. So Snyder repurposed t. Might explain why it was a bit weird and less that top-notch.

Can't say it was great but I did enjoy it. They took the classic Seven Samurai story and brought it to outer space. I thought the special effects were very well done, dialog a wee bit stilted but the performances were very good, especially the bad guy.

I'd go 3 1/2 to 4 stars.  I'll watch part two when it comes out.

I enjoyed it for the most part but didn't care for the cliffhanger ending. Oh well. That how sequals and prequals happen. I will check out the next installment but if its the same as this one then I might pass.

Thank you.

We need to wait for the director's cut.  It was a three hour movie cut down to two hours, mostly by eliminating anything that didn't advance the plot... like all the characters' backstories.

Yeah, as I say, I found it somewhat entertaining, but I'd rather they didn't bother with another bash unless its better than this one.
